Event Details

E-commerce has become a popular buzzword over the past few years and, as the recent Singles Day demonstrated, the prospects for e-commerce in China are significant. With Apple Pay set to launch in 2016, creativity and innovation in how firms attract and engage with customers will only become more important.

To give a general overview of e-commerce in China and examine strategies and successes of market leaders in this space, AmCham China’s Manufacturing and Retail forums are delighted to welcome James Du of Asia Briefing Ltd. and Ernie Diaz of China Digital Review to present and take questions. Du will discuss the emergence of content models as a marketing tool, where stories and narratives can help businesses attract customers. Diaz will speak on e-commerce as it pertains to China specifically, on the roots and reasons for Alibaba and Tmall's success, and why Jack Ma calls Tmall "a platform" rather than "a solution."

A question and answer session will follow both presentations.
