Event Details

AmCham China Northeast Chapter is organizing its first forum on corporate social responsibility (CSR) to understand the interactions between business and society.

For this free event, we are very honored to host Dr. Philp Cochran to Dalian. Dr. Cochran is an Executive Associate Dean – Indianapolis for Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business. Dr. Cochran’s research is in the areas of corporate social responsibility, corporate philanthropy, leadership, corporate strategy, corporate citizenship, business ethics, and corporate governance. Dr. Cochran will discuss corporate social responsibility, a concept which has been discussed by U.S. firms for about a century. It focuses on the theory that firms have responsibilities to a wide range of stakeholders. These responsibilities are a function of the social compact between the firm and the society in which it operates.

This event is sponsored by Intel Semiconductor Dalian, who is a pioneer and model in CSR in China. Intel will help us understand why CSR is very important for an enterprise and how they implement CSR in China. People can also join a tour at Intel to better understand the CSR culture there.
