As the geopolitical relationship between the United States and China grows more challenging and complex, the dynamics in Washington increasingly affect the American business community in China.

In an exclusive briefing for our Policy+ and Chairman's Circle members, Bill Wichterman will bring his extensive experience on Capitol Hill to discuss how Congress is thinking about and approaching China—from the meta-narrative to the dynamics between the Republicans and Democrats as well as between the House of Representatives and the Senate. He will also share insights regarding outbound investment restrictions, export controls, Taiwan policy, and the emerging Republican presidential primary field.

Mr. Wichterman is a seasoned political expert and Senior Advisor at Covington & Burling. He served as Special Assistant to President George W. Bush and has held senior advisory roles for a range of presidential campaigns and senior Congressional leaders. Today, he is deeply involved in national Republican politics and is a widely sought after advisor to Fortune 500 clients in various industries on a range of matters related to, among other things, foreign relations and U.S. policy toward China, semiconductor technology, patent policy, trade controls, CFIUS, antitrust, and cybersecurity.
