The auto industry in China remains a dynamic and exciting sector of the economy, so AmCham China is pleased to be able to relaunch its Automotive Forum with an in-depth look at some new regulations that will greatly impact the chamber's members.

Several ministries including the Ministry of Transport are releasing new guidelines on the auto after-sales services, auto repair, and auto parts markets with the aim of bringing new auto repair technology to the public and unifying the code of auto parts for the after-sales markets. To explain what this means, AmCham China welcomes Wei Tongwei, secretary general of Automotive Repair Parts Committee of the China Automotive Maintenance and Repair Trade Association (CAMRTA), for a discussion of the newly released "Guideline on Promotion of Auto Repair Industry Reform and Upgrading and Improvement of Service Quality."
CAMRTA is one of the driving organizations behind the new rules, and Wei will cover the following points:
- The background and rationale of the guidelines, including elaboration on some key components;
- Possible implementation plans that will be released following the guidelines;
- Challenges and opportunities for auto companies;

AmCham China will also take this opportunity to convene the first planning meeting for the Automotive Forum. The forum will become a platform for the industry to exchange information and share common interests. Everyone interested in becoming part of the forum are welcome to join the planning session. This meeting's agenda includes setting the goals and working plans for the coming year.
