Government Relations in Action: Helping Build the Corporate Brand
When we talk about branding, we think about logos, packaging, and advertising. We don't associate branding with the public affairs team of a business. But the truth is that public affairs and government relations professionals have just as big a role to play in protecting and promoting the brand as the marketing department. Brand is about market perceptions. Brand is about reputation. When the PR team reaches out to stakeholders or seeks to influence outcomes, what it's essentially doing is promoting, positioning, or protecting the brand.
