With the region's energy supply dynamics already in flux, China-Russia relations are the latest factor to grab the spotlight this year, triggered by the spike in Russia's confrontation with the West and the long-awaited breakthrough in Beijing-Moscow pipeline gas negotiations. Due to geopolitics and energy complementarity, the China-Russia relationship is being touted as a potentially game-changing new alliance with fundamental implications for oil and gas, in Asia and beyond.
AmCham China's Oil, Energy & Power (OEP) Forum is pleased to introduce Mr. Andrew Gilholm, Director of Asia Analysis with Control Risks, the global political, integrity and security risk consultancy. In this session, Mr. Gilholm will consider the China-Russia relationship and recent developments, assess how realistic this new "alliance" scenario is and offer some observations on the potential implications.
