AmCham China cordially invites you to join us for our latest Essential Skills Training: Be Assertive and Build Confidence in Communication.
This program will equip the participants with skills and style to clearly state their opinions and feelings as well as advocate their needs in workplace. Participants will learn how to overcome barriers that cause conflict and misunderstanding without coming across as either too passive or too aggressive.
This course will show you how to find the right balance between the two, so that you may express your thoughts and feeling in an assertive and appropriate manner. Learning how to behave and communicate assertively will enhance one's effectiveness and efficiency in workplace, especially for those who have an indirect and implicit communication style. There will be role-play and practice in the program for participants to learn being assertive.

• Understand communication processes in workplace
• Understand one's own communication style
• Avoiding passive and aggressive modes of communication
• Understand assertiveness and why it is important in workplace
• Learn and practice different ways to assert yourself
• Learn to say "no" gracefully
• Build confidence in interpersonal interaction and communication

Trainer – Donny Huang
Donny Huang is founder and managing partner of 4stones Cross-Cultural Consulting Group. He helps both international executives/managers and Chinese national executives/managers develop global leadership and cross-cultural competence. He has consulted large multinational corporations such as Singapore Airline, Nike, Motorola, the World Bank, UBS, Royal Bank of Scotland, Areva, Agilent, Telkom Indonesia, among others.
He holds an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona, USA, and did graduate work on Cultures and Leadership at the East-West Center in Hawaii. Donny was Vice Chair-Asia for Thunderbird Global Council, and is committee member of 2005 Committee.
