Opportunities and Challenges for China's Water Industry Under the New Urbanization Strategy
As China continues to urbanize and grow its cities, many are wondering how urban centers plan to bring clean water to its people in the future given the serious environmental issues regarding overuse of resources and polluted ground water. In light of recent revelations made this past December at the first Central Working Conference on Urbanization regarding China's urbanization policies, there are many questions as to the challenges and opportunities businesses will face moving forward.
To answer these and other questions, the AmCham China Clean Tech Forum brings together a group of policy experts and industry insiders to share their views and perspectives regarding China's new urbanization policies. Among the topics to be discussed are the water industry development under the scheme of the new urbanization strategy, and the opportunities and the challenges lying behind the emerging water industry and water market in light of recent infrastructure developments intended to tackle water supply problems.
AmCham China's Clean Technology Forum is a focal point for communication and networking between individuals, companies, and organizations involved with both the US and Chinese clean technology sectors. The forum organizes and facilitates informational events and business exchanges, independently and in cooperation with other like-minded groups. The forum's scope of involvement includes technologies, policies and commercial activities associated with the production, usage and storage of clean energy, air and water. The Clean Tech Forum hosts round-table discussions among forum members and international experts. Recently covered topics include climate change adaptation, trading of greenhouse gas emissions, and energy storage.
