AmCham China's Young Professionals Committee and Tax Forum are pleased to host this seminar on navigating the Chinese Individual Income Tax (IIT) system as a foreign national working in China, and the changes in the US system that affect US citizens and permanent residents abroad.

According to tax compliance laws, employers in China are required to act as withholding agents and report any IIT withheld to the tax authorities, by whom compliance is strictly enforced. For many professionals working abroad, however, understanding this complex individual income tax system with its annual changes and compliance is a daunting task. To address this topic, AmCham China will host a discussion with Rebecca Wang, director, Global Employment Services, Deloitte, to further understand the latest regulations and local practices for foreigners abroad.

Issues to be covered include:
• What are the annual filing requirements for US citizens working in China?
• What are the basics of filing Chinese IIT? What does the process look like?
• What are some of the changes in the IIT system in 2014?
• How do the recent changes in the US system affect US citizens working abroad and permanent residents of China?
• What are some of the cross-border IIT issues which frequently arise?
