Will the development of skilled technical workers play an important role in the future ability of both firms and nations to be competitive in a global market? Please join AmCham China for a presentation and round table discussion with Marc S. Tucker, president of the National Center on Education (NCEE). Tucker will discuss NCEE's two-year international research project on the world's leading vocational education systems.

Tucker and a team of researchers affiliated with NCEE have visited Switzerland, Singapore, Australia and Denmark and are now in China conducting their study. He will discuss preliminary lessons and findings from the countries visited thus far and what he and his fellow researchers see as the challenges ahead for the US. He will then lead an open discussion with the audience on the vocational education system in China. The NCEE is looking for AmCham China member insights on China's transformation to a market economy, development and recruitment of skilled labor and the development of corporate operations in China.
Marc Tucker is the president of NCEE, and the former associate director of the National Institute of Education in the United States, in charge of the nation's policy research on education at all levels, including vocational, adult education, and leading the standards-based reform movement in the US.

AmCham China will soon be launching a new Education Forum. If you are interested in getting involved in the Education Forum, please join us for this discussion to find out more.
