Competitive Strategy and Technology Management in the Age of the Customer
AmCham China is pleased to invite Andrew Stockwell, vice president of Forrester Research Asia-Pacific, to give a thought-provoking presentation and open discussion on what "the age of the customer" means for the role of top executives, companies, and a company's strategic priorities.
Traditional sources of competitive advantage such as manufacturing, distribution, and information technology are essentially obsolete - none of them present significant barriers to entry. So what's next? In the view of Forrester Research, it is believed the next decade and beyond will be "the age of the customer"; where the only true source of competitive advantage is to become customer obsessed. Only those that do, and focus their business and IT strategy, energy, and budget on processes that enhance knowledge of and engagement with customers, will survive the technology-fueled disruption we are seeing today. In this new era, companies, and CMOs and CIOs specifically, must significantly change their approach to marketing, sales, service, technology management, investment, and indeed where and how they fund and seed innovation.
