The Perceptions and Implications of China’s Third Plenum
AmCham China and the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy co-host this event with Dr. Yukon Huang. Dr. Huang will discuss the perceptions and implications of China's recently concluded Third Plenum. The event will focus on how the Plenum's intentions mesh with the views of China watchers and markets on reform priorities, as well as their implications for future growth and stability.
Dr. Huang is a senior associate in the Carnegie Asia Program, where his research focuses on China's economic development and its impact on Asia and the global economy. Previously, he was the World Bank's country director for China (1997–2004) and for Russia and the former Soviet Union Republics of Central Asia (1992–1997). He is an A-List commentator for the Financial Times on China and his articles are also seen frequently in other major media such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Foreign Affairs, The New York Times, and CNN. He has a PhD in economics from Princeton University and a BA from Yale University.
