Food Safety in China: The Last Ten Years and Present Challenges
China is in the midst of significant food safety reforms. Since the unprecedented tragedy of the Sanlu melamine crisis, there has been a wave of exposés in the dairy, meat, and cooking oil industries, among others. As a result, both multinationals and foreign SMEs currently operating in, or anticipating entering, the China market are now required to alter established practices and operate in accordance with new and often provisional regulations.
AmCham China's Food and Beverage Forum and Agriculture Forum are pleased to present an informative event, featuring David Mahon, managing director and chief investment officer of Mahon China Investment Management. Mahon has over thirty years' experience in China managing investment funds and advising agricultural food & beverage companies. The presentation will analyze past and current trends in the food and beverage industry, focusing on case studies drawn from his experiences in China.
