The American Chamber of Commerce in the People’s Republic of China (AmCham China) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization whose membership comprises 4,000 individuals from 900 companies operating across China. The Chamber’s nationwide mission is to help American companies succeed in China through advocacy, information, networking, and business support services. In addition to our headquarters in Beijing, AmCham China serves Tianjin, Central China, and Northeast China through our Chapters in Tianjin, Dalian, Shenyang, and Wuhan. Across the five offices, AmCham China has more than 30 working groups, and holds more than 150 events each year.

As part of our efforts to engage with Chinese domestic think tanks, AmCham China is pleased to extend an invite to the Policy+ group for an in-person meeting with the CCIEE Institute of American and European Studies on Thursday, September 2, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM with Zhang Huanbo, Director of the Institute, and other colleagues to exchange views on US-China trade relations and China's business environment.

Due to limited seating, please RSVP as soon as possible. Each Policy+ company can send up to two representatives. The deadline to register is Tuesday, August 31, 11:00 AM. The meeting will be primarily conducted in Chinese.

Huanbo Zhang

Director, Institute of American and European Studies at CCIEE

Huanbo Zhang, Deputy Director of Institute of American and European Studies of China Center for International Economic Exchanges. Doctor of Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Postdoctoral of School of Public Policy and Management of Tsinghua University. Since 2009, he has been engaged in international economic, macroeconomic, regional and industrial development research in China Center for International Economic Exchanges. He has written more than 100 internal reference reports, of which more than 20 have received important instructions from state leaders. He has published more than 100 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals of SSCI, SCI, CSSCI. He presided over research projects entrusted by National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, China Center for International Economic Exchanges, National Natural Science Foundation, local governments and the world's top 500 enterprises, totaling more than 40. His academic achievements have won two first-class awards, three second-class awards and two third-class awards of National Development and Reform Commission for Excellent Achievements. He has written many books, including: Analysis of China's Macroeconomic Issues; Climate Policy Analysis of China, the United States and the European Union; Development of a Higher Open Economy; Paris Agreement - Milestone of Global Response to Climate Change; Research on China's Foreign Investment Regulatory System under the Negative Inventory Management Model; Blue Paper on Sustainable Development; Analysis of Important Global Affairs; Asian Competitiveness Annual Report, etc.
