In 2016, China instituted the Cybersecurity Law – it aimed to protect and regulate the country's Critical Information Infrastructure. To address additional concerns of personal information and data, two more legislators were introduced: Data Security Law (DSL) and Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL).

The DSL & PIPL have significant implications for businesses operating in China that, broadly defined, collect, store, and use data/personal information. On April 29, 2021, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China (NPC) released the 2nddraft of the DSL and PIPL for public comment.

AmCham China, together with USITO,cordially invite you to join us from 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM (Beijing Time) on Tuesday, May 18 to discuss and better navigate the new draft changes. This event will feature Prof.WU Shenkuo, Executive Director at the Cyberspace Rule of Law International Centerof Beijing Normal University, and Joanna Mao, Deputy Managing Director of USITO.
