Johnson & Johnson's (J&J) heritage is female, they have been addressing the unmet needs of women since their founding. Back in 1886, eight of their first fourteen employees were female. Up to today, they have the Women's Leadership & Inclusion (WLI) Employee Resource Group (ERG) which is their longest standing ERG and celebrated its 25th anniversary at J&J in 2020. Today, there are over 10,000 WLI members in over 200 countries across J&J globally.


J&J WLI has three pillars to work on supporting female employees: Advancement focus on Offer programs and networking opportunities that enable female talent to achieve complete and fulfilling careers. Inclusion focuses on fostering an inclusive environment by respecting gender visible and invisible differences. Community focuses on building a better community by strengthening collaboration with external partnerships.

About Women's Professional Committee

The Women's Professional Committee's objective is to foster and support the professional development of women in business using AmCham China's four pillars: information, advocacy, networking, and services. The committee does this by implementing a program of events and activities throughout the year aimed at enhancing selected skill areas integral to success in the business world. It also provides a forum for members to share and learn from each other. The committee is dedicated to developing and promoting strong women leaders and mentoring members to achieve their peak performance while doing business in China.

    Helen currently serves as VP for J&J medical China E2E Supply Chain, and chairman for J&J enterprise China supply chain council. She has been working with J&J more than twenty years, with diversified experience and leadership roles in various supply chain functions – Plan, Source, Make, Deliver; different business sectors – Consumer, Medical Device and Pharm, and different geography – China, Malaysia, Singapore for Asia Pacific regional projects, and US for global assignment.
     
    Besides supply chain expertise and strong business track record over the years, Helen is also well recognized by her passion and commitment to talent development. She is an active participant in various mentoring program in addition to offering guidance and inspiration to many young professionals.
     
    In addition to her business roles, Helen is leading J&J China WLI (Women Leadership & Inclusion) ERG (Employee Resource Group) with mission to support women better pursue personal fulfillment. Helen also sits on J&J Asia Pacific DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) Advisory Board and Global Supply Chain DEI Council, to advocate for a better diversified and inclusive environment.

    Daisy is the BUHR Leader for Janssen R&D. She has been working with JNJ in HR functions for multiple years.

    Starting from Consumer sector, she’s had a variety of diverse experience across sectors and functions and also got the rotation opportunities in APAC region and United States.

    With strong belief in authenticity and inclusiveness, beyond her day job, Daisy joined JNJ China DE&I Council earlier this year as a partner from HR function to co-create and drive China diversity, equity and inclusion roadmap together with all ERG leaders.

    Vivian is a seasoned business leader with 20 years of business management experience in Pharmaceutical and Medical Device industries in different markets.

    She joined Johnson & Johnson in April 2018 as a core member of Janssen China Leadership Team, responsible for the overall business strategy development and business operations management for the Core Products Division.

    Before joining Johnson & Johnson, Vivian had worked with Novartis for 16 years, experienced multiple business franchises and leadership roles. She started as a Brand Manager in Novartis China CNS business, then experienced Group Brand Manager, Marketing Head of CNS and Ophthalmology BU. In 2010, Vivian was assigned to Novartis Pharma AG as Global Brand Manager of Lucentis in Switzerland. After this global assignment, she came back to China to take the Head of Strategic Planning and Business Development & Licensing of Oncology business. In 2012, She was appointed as Head of Rare Emerging Disease Franchise reporting into Novartis Oncology China. Most recently, she was assigned to Alcon Hong Kong Ltd. as the General Manager.

    Prior to Novartis, Vivian worked for Becton Dickinson & Company as Product Specialist and Pfizer Pharmaceutical Ltd. as a Medical Representative.

    At the very beginning of her career, she worked in Beijing Tongren Hospital as an Anesthesia Physician for three years. Vivian graduated from Medical college of Qingdao University with Bachelor’s Degree major in Clinical Medicine.
    She got MBA Degree from Peking University, international MBA program.

    Head of J&J APAC Innovation

    Dan Wang, M.D. is the Head of Johnson & Johnson Innovation in Asia Pacific, responsible for managing a portfolio of co-investments and deal execution spanning across all three business sectors and expanding external networks within the innovation ecosystem in the region. On this role, she has led the Asia Pacific Innovation Center in completing multiple kinds of research collaboration, co-development, license-in and equity investment collaborations in China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore to enhance the global portfolio and pipeline of Johnson & Johnson.
     
    Dan has over 20 years’ experience in the life sciences sector. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Dan worked with Becton Dickinson (BD), e-Capital Corporation, Express Scripts and Johnson & Johnson by leading the local and global Research & Development, Medical Affairs and clinical research teams. Dan has a strong track record in strategic innovation, identifying new product opportunities and external partnerships.
     
    Dan holds MD and MSc degrees from Peking University as well as an MBA from Goizueta Business School, and an MPH from Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, Atlanta.

    Vice President J&J JJSV Greater China and ANZ

    Liping is currently the Vice President, Australia & New Zealand (ANZ), China Mainland, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan Region for JJSV, a member of both China President Council (CPC) for JNJ China and the JJSV Asia-Pacific & Japan Leadership Team. He also serves as Chairman of Global Community Impact, J&J China.

    Since joining JJSV to lead our China Mainland business in October 2018, Liping has delivered exceptional growth with the business doubling from 2018 to 2021 business plan. Our market share gained 11 points from 13.8% in 2018 to 24.5% exiting Q4 2020, becoming undisputed No.1 in China IOL market. He significantly accelerated NPI strategy, Catalys becoming the first equipment approved through Hainan Boao RWE innovation channel in the China medical device industry.

    Liping is passionate on talent development and has built strong talent pipeline with diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). He is also actively advocating and championing DEI externally, successfully holding the industry’s first and second Women Leadership Forum in Ophthalmology. He has built a strong team culture of customer centricity, winning spirit, compliance, and growth mindset that permeates at all levels of the organization.

    Liping has extensive experience leading Medical Devices businesses across both China and the US. Prior to joining JJSV, he was the Senior Business Unit head for our Spine, Neuro, CMF and Power Tools business in DePuy Synthes JJMC China. Under his leadership the business grew significantly above market (and well above benchmark peers around the world), gaining market share and extending our market leadership. He also built a high-performing team and a strong talent pipeline.

    Prior to joining J&J, Liping spent almost 10 years with Covidien in China including as Vice-President, Value Segment, Emerging Markets. He has held roles as Senior Division Director, Energy Devices as well Market Development Manager leading the execution of the Covidien China Accelerated Growth Plan as well as being responsible for several key functions including government affairs.

    Liping has also worked for Boston Scientific in the US for 5 years in New Market Development and Strategic Planning. He started his career as a Design Engineer with Shanghai Electric Group.
    Liping has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from the Beijing Institute of technology and a MBA from the University of Notre Dame where he was awarded the merit-based Emerson Fellowship.

    With 5-year experience in management consulting, she joined Johnson & Johnson Medical China (JJMC) in 2013.

    In 8 years with JJMC, she has taken different roles, delivered high-quality work and strong business result. She started with a strategic planning role in the company, worked on corporate-level initiatives. With great passion and determination, she took on product marketing role for 2 years, in charge of various core product groups, worked closely with sales team in insights generation, new product launch and customer engagement. She was awarded with JJMC Growth Driver Award - Individual Leadership Award in 2018.

    Later she took on sales management role, was one of BU top sales managers of 2019.

    Since Jan 2020, she took responsibility of both sales & marketing and professional education of a “Special force team”, dedicated to business development in private medical beauty sector for wound closure product portfolio. She restructured team and hired talents with diverse backgrounds, led the team to take endeavors in procedure standardization, professional education, product differentiation, customer total solution, innovative events & campaigns, consumer awareness, etc. She and her team are determined to deliver safe & effective product offerings to the thread-lifting market, to re-build clinical and consumer confidence of the treatment, and shape a worry-free environment for consumers to choose and adopt related treatments. Her team was awarded with title of 2020 JJMC “Dare to Win” Team.

She has been working in J&J for 2 years, focus on demand planning, end to end supply chain process and data optimization including upstream orchestration and distribution capability build up to support business high growth.

    In addition to her currently business roles, Jocelyn is also the community pillar leader of J&J China WLI (Women Leadership & Inclusion) ERG (Employee Resource Group). She believes that J&J WLI will foster an inclusive environment by respecting gender visible & invisible difference and community pillar will help bring more impact by strengthening the collaboration with external partnership.

    Before joining in J&J, Jocelyn worked in Mattel for 4 years with a double role of APAC demand planning leader and China supply chain head. She also had strong FMCG supply chain experience in Estee Lauder and Loreal company.
