Since the summer of 2018, the US and China have dialed up their aggressive rhetoric and actions. To better understand the current state of the US-China relationship, some observers are drawing on historical precedents and, as a result, the "cold war" analogy is increasingly dominating the headlines. This event will take an in-depth look at the relevance of this descriptor to the present realities, the lessons that can be drawn from the Cold War, and the implications for foreign companies trying to navigate these uncertainties.

We are very excited to be able to bring together experts from the US and China to discuss this topic on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM Beijing Time (Tuesday, August 25, 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM EST) via Microsoft Teams. Speakers will address some of the fundamental questions about the bilateral relationship in their individual remarks, followed by a moderated panel discussion and audience Q&A.

All Policy+ subscribing companies are encouraged to send multiple representatives from both their China office and global headquarters. To ensure a productive discussion, please come with thoughtful questions. Please RSVP by Monday, August 24, 2:00 PM Beijing Time. If you have any questions, please email Chloe Ma at cma@amchamchina.org.

The event will be in English (primarily) and Chinese. Interpretation will be provided. Stay tuned for confirmation of our fourth panelist!
