As government affairs professionals, especially those who are working on the cooperation between multinational companies and the Chinese government, we know that the most important and difficult part of our daily work is the communication between Chinese and Western cultures. On the one hand, when we are faced with Chinese government officials, we introduce Western historical experience and are not good at communicating in localized languages; on the other hand, we can have a deep understanding of China's politics, economy, society, and industry, but because we are not good at expressing in the language and receiving mode understood by the company's top management, the result looks as if dumplings cooked in teapot cannot be poured out. Communication is both an art and a theory.
This course aims to help government affairs professionals better understand the differences between Chinese and Western cultures based on their work background, job requirements, and job characteristics, and review from multiple perspectives to systematically analyze the causes of differences between Chinese and Western cultures. And from the perspective of government affairs, we will put forward suggestions on how to build consensus and promote work in the context of the intersection of two different cultures.
