    Demir Yener, PhD

    Senior Lecturer at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School

    Dr. Demir Yener (Ph.D. Syracuse University) is a financial economist who draws on a broad base of global expertise as an academic and practitioner, policy formulator and business strategist. He specializes in developing comprehensive technical assistance and training plans and programs for financial sector development and corporate governance projects on a global basis. He joined the Carey school from USAID where he served as senior project manager and financial sector advisor in designing, developing and managing economic development projects in emerging countries in the financial sector, capital markets and corporate governance regulation. Previously, he was Professor of Finance at Babson College (Boston), where he taught corporate finance, investments, financial institutions, business valuation and portfolio management courses. He later joined the World Bank.

    Vice Dean of Education at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School

    Dr. Kevin Frick is the new Vice Dean of Education at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. Dr. Frick, who has joint appointments in the Department of Health Policy and Management and the Department of International Health at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, is a health economist who has taught and conducted cost-effectiveness analysis since obtaining his PhD in 1996. Of his nearly 200 total peer- reviewed publications, he has published over 40 articles, reviews, and editorials that put to use the latest techniques in conducting cost- effectiveness research, review methods relevant to cost-effectiveness research, or help to define cost-effectiveness research for researchers and practitioners in fields as diverse as nursing, ophthalmology, and
    social work. He has an extensive record of being involved in collaborative multi-disciplinary research teams and working closely with health care providers and other public health professionals who are involved in implementing the interventions being studies to ensure that all relevant cost data are collected and used as inputs for high quality cost-effectiveness analyses. He also has considerable experience working with observational claims data to make inferences about costs.
    In his role as Vice Dean for Education, Dr. Frick has overall responsibility for each of the Schools’ Masters and MBA programs as well as the undergraduate program. He is working to improve the business functions of the school that are related to the educational process, develop online educational efforts for the School, develop mechanisms to assure the quality of courses and programs, and improve the overall student experience.

Terms and Conditions

Attending an Event
Events have limited seating, so to ensure your attendance we encourage advance online registration and payment for ALL events. We cannot guarantee entry to anyone not registered in advance. Most of our events are in English and off the record, but please check the webpage for each event to avoid disappointment.

Advance Tickets and Discounts 
Members can receive a discount by purchasing an advance ticket at least 24 hours before the day of the event. You must pay online at the time of registering for the event to be eligible for a discount. Discounts will not be available to members at the door.

Receipts (fapiao) 
You can receive your fapiao when you arrive for an event provided that you buy an advance ticket and pay online at least 1 working day before the event and you provide the correct information for your fapiao at that time. You can leave details of the type of fapiao you need on the registration and payment page.

Event attendees can request a fapiao at the door or up to two months after the event. Requests made after that time will not be accommodated. Please contact the AmCham China staff member responsible for organizing your event.

Cancellation Policy
If you cannot attend an event for which you have registered, please cancel your registration no later than one business day prior to the event. If you fail to notify AmCham China of your cancellation in a timely fashion, you will forfeit the fee you have already paid.

To cancel you can: 1) cancel directly online through the EventBank platform on which you registered or 2) contact the AmCham China staff member responsible for organizing your event.
