Access to safe food is a requirement for a healthy population. In the US, the Food and Drug Administration establishes food safety standards and oversees the enforcement of those standards. In China, food safety is now front and center – the 13th Five-Year Plan aims to improve food safety governance and industry development and increase the satisfaction of the public by 2020.The last several years China has indeed made significant progress to make sure its 1.4 billion citizens can eat and drink with less risk. We've seen a positive trend toward greater attention on process management from farm to table, and Chinese standards gaining greater influence globally.

American food suppliers and producers in China bring best practices from the US and also adopt best practices of Chinese companies and must abide by regulations from the Chinese government key stakeholders. Through this event, these U.S. Food and Beverage companies will present their highlights in the spirit of helping to facilitate even closer US-China cooperation, which will benefit both countries.
