Michael Hart

Michael Hart is President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China based in Beijing. He has over twenty-five years of business experience in Asia, including nineteen years in mainland China.

Siddharth Chatterjee

Mr. Siddharth Chatterjee took office as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in China on 16 January 2021 and presented his letter of credentials to the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on 14 April 2021. The Resident Coordinator (RC), is the highest ranking representative of the UN Development System. The RC is the designated representative of - and reports to - the UN Secretary-General.

Mr. Chatterjee has more than 25 years of experience in international cooperation, sustainable development, humanitarian coordination and peace and security, which he has acquired at the United Nations and externally.

Most recently, he served as United Nations Resident Coordinator in Kenya after holding other leadership positions across the Organization, including Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Kenya, Regional Director for the Middle East and Europe for the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Denmark and Chief of Staff in the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI). He also held leadership positions with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Indonesia, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan and in United Nations peacekeeping operations with the United Nations Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNMIBH).

Mr. Chatterjee has also served in the Red Cross Movement (IFRC) as the Chief Diplomat and Head of Resource Mobilization in Switzerland.

A 3 times TEDx speaker, he is a regular opinion contributor on humanitarian and development issues for a range journals which includes Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, the Hill, Reuters, Huffington Post, Forbes, CNBC Africa, CNN, Al Jazeera, the Guardian as well as of late he has also published in mainstream Chinese journals.

Mr. Chatterjee holds a master’s degree in public policy from Princeton University in the United States of America and a bachelor’s degree from the National Defence Academy in India.

Dr. Jian Lu

Dr. Jian Lu is Corporate Vice President of LinkedIn and President of LinkedIn China, leading R&D for the China markets and overseeing the entire business of LinkedIn in China.

Prior to joining LinkedIn, Jian was a Partner at Hujiang EdTech and the CEO of CCtalk platform business. Previously, he was CTO of 360 Video and General Manager of 360 Live Video Cloud at Qihoo 360. He also served as VP of Multimedia Technologies and Managing Director at Shanda Innovations, Beijing, and CTO at Ku6 Media, an independent Shanda subsidiary. Earlier in his career, he worked at Apple in Silicon Valley as a Senior Scientist with the company’s Interactive Media Group and later as a Lead Principal Engineer in Apple’s ProVideo Engineering. He was also co-founder and CTO at Vobile, now a publicly traded company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Jian holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Zhejiang University, China, a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from China Academy of Railway Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College.

Shari Bistransky

Shari Bistransky has served as Deputy Public Affairs Officer and Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China since July 2021. In her more than 20 years as a U.S. diplomat, she has served multiple assignments in the former Soviet Union and the Caribbean, as well as in Washington, DC.

Before joining the State Department, Ms. Bistransky supported the administration of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs at American Councils for International Education and at the Academy for Educational Development.

Shari holds an MA in comparative politics from the Ohio State University, and speaks Mandarin, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, and French.

Lin Gao

Lin has over 20 years’ experience with Fortune 500 companies both in China and the U.S. across the areas of government affairs, IT, supply chain and marketing. She held the position of senior director of Global Government Affairs at Motorola Solutions China, and was responsible for managing relationship with various government bodies and trade associations for business advocacy. She was also responsible for corporate governance across Asia Pacific.
As an active member of the community, Lin has been serving on the board of American Chamber of Commerce since 2013 and is the first Chinese woman holding the vice chair role. Lin gives back to the society by advising a number of domestic and international NGOs including U.S. China Strong Foundation. She is also a mentor for Tshinghua Schwartzman program.
Lin held a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree from Nottingham Trent University and an MBA from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Linda Zhu

Linda has taken multiple leadership roles in Google Ads and helped China companies go global with 15+ years of experience. Her most recent role is leading the GrCN Large Partner Solutions team which is to develop and uplevel monetization deal with leading publishers and enable One Google partnership. She’s passionate about empowering women and has been leading women@China community since 2018.

Milun Zhang

Ms. Milun Zhang is the Head of Government Affairs and Policy Advocacy for Amgen China. She worked in market access and government affairs at Johnson & Johnson China, Novartis, and RDPAC, and she was an analyst at JP Morgan Chase (Hong Kong). Ms. Zhang graduated from Yale University with a Master's in Public Health Management.

Dan Brindle

Dan Brindle became President of Novartis Group (China) on September 1, 2020. He is responsible for developing and driving implementation of Novartis’s integrated strategy for China, including external engagement, business development and expanding market access for Novartis medicines in the country.

Mr. Brindle joined Novartis from the China law firm ZY Partners, where he was a partner focused on China corporate law and external strategic engagement. Prior to this role, he was vice president, International Government Affairs for GlaxoSmithKline in Singapore. Mr. Brindle also held senior leadership roles with Pfizer and Eli Lilly & Company across Asia and in the United States.

Mr. Brindle has a long-standing connection with Asia, especially with China. He has completed extensive coursework in Asian studies, spent most of his career in Asia and held important roles in organizations including APEC and the US-ASEAN Business Council, facilitating relations between Asia and the West.

Mr. Brindle holds a law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School and is a Member of the State Bar of California. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Asian studies from the University of Puget Sound, and conducted graduate coursework at Cornell University and at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center for Chinese & American Studies in China.

After joining Novartis, Mr. Brindle relocated to Shanghai with his family. He speaks English, Mandarin, Japanese and Spanish.

Mark Dreyer

Mark Dreyer is the author of ‘Sporting Superpower: An Insider’s View on China’s Quest to Be the Best’ (published Jan 2022). He is also the founder of the China Sports Insider website, hosts the China Sports Insider Podcast and is a frequent media commentator on the Chinese sports industry for outlets including BBC, CNBC, Bloomberg and the Financial Times. Mark has also worked as sports journalist for Sky Sports in the UK and Fox Sports in the US and has been based in China since 2007. When he's not covering sports, he leads the MarComm team at AmCham China.
