AmCham China typically undertakes an annual trip to Washington, DC in late April or early May to meet with administration and congressional officials, policymakers, and think tanks to exchange views on US-China trade relations. As travel restrictions due to COVID-19 remain in place, AmCham China's 2022 DC Outreach will be conducted virtually this year for the third time!

With ongoing tensions in the bilateral relationship, 2022 will be a crucial year for multinational companies with significant stakes in both the US and China markets to engage with the US government. The Virtual DC Outreach program allows participants to actively engage in strategizing our messaging for these engagements and share valuable insights during each meeting with key stakeholders.

Who can participate?

Please note: Participation is limited to one China-based senior representative per company. The delegation will be capped at 25 participants. Understanding that the primary representative may not be able to participate in each meeting, we will allow for each delegate to appoint an alternate colleague who can join the meeting to listen in on their behalf for certain meetings (pre-approval required).

Who will we engage?

  • Senior representatives from key administration agencies
  • Key members of Congress
  • Influential think tanks and scholars
  • Chinese Embassy in the US

Please see the documents section of the event page for more specifics. If you have particular requests regarding meeting targets, please let us know.

When will the meetings be held?

We are targeting scheduling 2-3 online meetings per month, through the end of the year. Due to time zone differences, many meetings will likely be held in the evening, China time.

Registration will remain open until slots are filled. As we expect to schedule our first meetings within the next couple of weeks, we encourage you to register as soon as possible.
