World Series, Game 4
As the old song goes, 'Take me out to the ball game...Take me out with the crowd...Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack...'
Well, it's World Series time again and what better way to spend a weekend morning than with the AmCham China crowd watching the crowning glory of America's national pastime, the World Series, at the most fitting place in Beijing to watch it: Home Plate!
This year's series sees the east coast Boston Red Sox squaring off with the west coast Los Angeles Dodgers, two of the oldest teams having formed in 1901 and 1884, respectively. The last time these two teams met in a World Series was 102 years ago, when Babe Ruth pitched all 14 innings for the win!
No peanuts or cracker jack on the menu, but you won't find a better American breakfast anywhere in Beijing! All included in the price of your specially discounted ticket, our friends at Home Plate have prepared an all-you-can eat buffet of pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausages, potatoes, scrambled eggs, and bacon, starting at 8:00 am.
They will also offer pitchers of Bloody Marys and screwdrivers for ¥140 and pitchers of Slow Boat, Boxing Cat and Kaiba for ¥120.
Not only will it be a lot of fun to share the game with your community, you'll also have a great view. Home Plate has a large projector screen in the main dining hall and five TV's at the bar.
