Make your lunch productive by joining 12-15 motivated young professionals from within the AmCham China community to share resources and best practices for success and career development. Young professionals interested in expanding their network, becoming more involved with AmCham China, and getting to know their peers in the expatriate business communityshould register for this informal discussion.
This month, the Young Professionals Committee welcomes Mr. Mark Wheeler. In Feburary 2015, Mr. Mark Wheeler transferred to Beijing, China where he is currently serving as President of ConocoPhillips China, overseeing the ongoing production, development and exploration work in and around our producing assets in Bohai Bay & South China Sea. Before that, Mark was the President of ConocoPhillips Malaysia where he oversaw the start-up and growth of ConocoPhillips' Malaysia business unit.
Mr. Wheeler has been working in the energy industry for over 30 years. Mark began his career as an exploration geologist in Houston, Texas in 1980. Between 1980 and 1994, he worked in the U.S. in a number of technical and supervisory positions, located in Midland, Texas, New Orleans, Lafayette, Louisiana and Houston, Texas. Mark joined ConocoPhillips in 1989 and worked in Jakarta, Norway, Indonesia, Malaysia and China since. Mr. Wheeler is also one of the current AmCham China Board of Governors.
During the session, Mark will share his professional journey in energy industry for almost 30 years. Mark will also be giving career development advice for young professionals, and how foreign firms and individuals can succeed in the current business climate. The session will conclude with the opportunity for guests to ask questions to discuss these and other issues as well as network and get to know other young professionals in the AmCham China community.
Please note that the tickets are limited and preference will be given to AmCham China members and employees of AmCham China member companies.
