Make your lunch productive by joining 12-15 motivated young professionals from within the AmCham China community to share resources and best practices for success and career development. Young professionals interested in expanding their network, becoming more involved with AmCham China, and getting to know their peers in the expatriate business communityshould register for this informal discussion.

This month, the Young Professionals Committee welcomes Mr. Graham Norris, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at AmCham China.

Graham joined AmCham China in 2013 and is responsible for all internal and external communications for the chamber. Before joining AmCham China, Graham worked in public relations for both Ogilvy and Ruder Finn in Beijing, serving clients such as Microsoft, Caterpillar and adidas, and providing media and communications training.

Graham is completing a doctorate examining adaptability and mindfulness in Chinese knowledge workers. He holds an MBA from Heriot-Watt University, and a B.A. in Economics, Politics and American Studies from Leeds University.

Graham will share his professional journey in his experience in Marketing and media over ten years in China. Graham will also be giving career development advice for young professionals, and how foreign firms and individuals can succeed in the current business climate. The session will conclude with the opportunity for guests to ask questions to discuss these and other issues as well as network and get to know other young professionals in the AmCham China community.

Please note that the tickets are limited and preference will be given to AmCham China members and employees of AmCham China member companies.

    Professional Experience

    Graham also has nearly a decade of journalistic experience, having worked as a desk chief for Dow Jones Newswires in Singapore and Tokyo, and as a newspaper editor and freelancer writer in Taiwan.

    Originally from the U.K., he has lived in Pennsylvania, Taipei, Singapore, Tokyo and Beijing. He speaks Mandarin, served on the board of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of China for two years, and helped set up the AmCham China Toastmasters Club.

Terms and Conditions

Attending an Event
Events have limited seating, so to ensure your attendance we encourage advance online registration and payment for ALL events. We cannot guarantee entry to anyone not registered in advance. Most of our events are in English and off the record, but please check the webpage for each event to avoid disappointment.

Advance Tickets and Discounts 
Members can receive a discount by purchasing an advance ticket at least 24 hours before the day of the event. You must pay online at the time of registering for the event to be eligible for a discount. Discounts will not be available to members at the door.

Receipts (fapiao) 
You can receive your fapiao when you arrive for an event provided that you buy an advance ticket and pay online at least 1 working day before the event and you provide the correct information for your fapiao at that time. You can leave details of the type of fapiao you need on the registration and payment page.

Event attendees can request a fapiao at the door or up to two months after the event. Requests made after that time will not be accommodated. Please contact the AmCham China staff member responsible for organizing your event.

Cancellation Policy
If you cannot attend an event for which you have registered, please cancel your registration no later than one business day prior to the event. If you fail to notify AmCham China of your cancellation in a timely fashion, you will forfeit the fee you have already paid.

To cancel you can: 1) cancel directly online through the EventBank platform on which you registered or 2) contact the AmCham China staff member responsible for organizing your event.

  • Access to all regular events held at the AmCham China Beijing Office
  • Access only to all cardholding members and employees of member companies
  • The access package can be purchased from AmCham China Beijing Office year-round
  • Access is valid for 12 months period starting from the date of purchase
  • The access is non-refundable and non-transferable
  • Pre-event online registration is required by selecting the “Prepaid Event Access” ticket option and enter the coupon code
  • Use of the package is for the named individual only
  • No part of this access package may be exchanged for cash
