The new year is already off to uncertain start, with tensions building in the US-China trade relationship, headlined by the 301 investigations, proposed CFIUS reforms and concerns of a backlash from Chinese regulators. How will these tensions impact MNC’s operating in China? Furthermore, what ripple effect may we see on EU-China relations, as the EU is reportedly considering adopting their own formal trade defense mechanisms?

We are thus pleased to welcome back members from the Spring Festival by partnering with the EU Chamber of Commerce to jointly host a panel discussion that will explore these topics.

Jason Miller, managing director of Teneo Strategy, served as senior communications advisor to President Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign as well as Communications Director for the Trump transition team and is thus uniquely positioned to share insights into the thinking and strategy of the Trump administration.

Jeremie Waterman, president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce China Center, is a highly regarded expert on US-China trade relations and is well-versed on latest developments of the US government’s China policy.

Patrick Horgan, Vice President of the European Chamber of Commerce in China, will help broaden the context of the potential ripple effects of US-China trade tensions and share the top issues being discussed in EU-China trade relations.

The conversation will be moderated by Paul Haenle, director of the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy and Senior Advisor to Teneo Strategy.

Please note that this is an off-the-record discussion and seats will be limited.
The Pre-Event Access (PEA) card is NOT eligible for this event.
