The Annual Central Economic Work Conference concluded on December 20th, 2017. The three-day conference set the tone for China’s economic policies in 2018. The meeting for the first time put forward the idea of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialist Economy with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, which mainly focuses on a new development concept and stresses the Party's leadership in economic management, people-oriented development, the new economic normal, the market's role in resource distribution and supply-side structural reform. Also, the year 2018 will mark the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening up policy, and China will increase imports and cut import tariffs on some products to promote balanced trade, according to the meeting.

Please join us and enjoy an exclusive dialogue with Mr. Zhang Yansheng (张燕生), Chief Research Fellow at China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE) on January 23rd, 9-11 AM. He will share his insights on China’s macro-economy trend, key messages from the Central Economic Work Conference, and its impacts on foreign businesses in China.
