The Women's Professional Committee's objective is to foster and support the professional development of women in business using AmCham China's four pillars: information, advocacy, networking, and services. The committee does this by implementing a program of events and activities throughout the year aimed at enhancing selected skill areas integral to success in the business world. It also provides a forum for members to share and learn from each other. The committee is dedicated to developing and promoting strong women leaders and mentoring members to achieve their peak performance while doing business in China.
As we celebrate International Women's Day this March we want to acknowledge the additional burden put forth on professional working women during the Coronavirus Crisis. We will be offering an online webinar to provide an encouraging platform for our members to learn, share and discuss how to support each other through this difficult time.
In particular, our mental and emotional wellbeing are affected in many ways, with the isolation of confinement in physical spaces, the multiple roles we take up as parents while working from home and disrupted by children, who are also emotionally affected, and the worries and anxieties for the future and how our businesses and jobs might be affected. In addition, for those who are managers and leaders, there is the additional burden of keeping the team together and staying connected and high-performing during adverse times. More than ever, we need to equip ourselves to navigate through these volatile and uncertain times.
This panel discussion will address:
- How we go through internal transitions in our states of minds to make sense of our emotions and experience
- How to work with colleagues and teams to maintain focus, emotional support, and mental wellbeing
- How to create psychologically safe spaces for each other to weather through adverse times
This panel session is at the same time, a space for YOU to share and encourage each other, so we can strengthen the community of support amongst women professionals, and find a way to co-learn and co-create.
Microsoft Teams (web or app) is required to access this webinar. The registration will be close on Monday, March 9, at 11:00am. Registration is required and a weblink / URL will be provided for successful registrants to access the webinar through Microsoft Teams on Monday afternoon.
