The aggressive rhetoric and actions between the US and China over recent years have not only led to a more tense and uncertain relationship, but also an erosion of trust. While many say that the trajectory of the relationship will remain on a confrontational path for years to come, some have expressed hope that the relationship will become more predictable under a Biden administration. Meanwhile, a large share of the electorate voted for Trump, suggesting at least some level of support among many Americans of his China-related policies. In this event, we hope to explore how US attitudes towards China may impact future US foreign policy towards China and other aspects of the bilateral relationship.
We are very excited to be able to bring together three experts from the US to discuss the topic on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 8:15 AM to 9:30 AM Beijing Time (Monday, December 7, 7:15 PM to 8:30 PM EST) via Microsoft Teams. Speakers will address recent trends of US public opinion towards China and China's global branding in their individual remarks, followed by a moderated panel discussion and audience Q&A.
All Policy+ subscribing companies are encouraged to send multiple representatives from both their China office and global headquarters. To ensure a productive discussion, please come with thoughtful questions. Please RSVP by Friday, December 4, 2:00 PM Beijing Time. If you have any questions, please email Chloe Ma at cma@amchamchina.org.
