Course Introduction

Lean Office (Basic Edition) is a systematic methodology that helps organizations understand what lean is in non-productive areas and how to cultivate lean in non-productive areas. It provides a structured approach and practical tools to implement an effective lean philosophy. Therefore, Lean Office (Basic Edition) is also one of the few ways to implement lean concepts in non-production areas on the market today. This training includes the following:

- Understanding of lean concepts in non-production areas

- Difficulties encountered in lean farming

- Basic explanation of lean principles and methods

- Application of basic methods (8 wastes, 5S, value-added, swim-lane diagrams) in non-production areas


Target audience

LEAN experts and Office Staff in direct area, professionals in all industries who is interested in applying Lean Methods in non-production area.


Training Content

At the end of this session, participants will gain:

  • Mindset change: participants will start to change the understanding of Lean which was considered as belonging to production only, and will enhance the willingness to apply Lean method in non-production area
  • Understanding upgrading: participants will understand the skills/methods of Lean in non-production area
  • Skill & Method Utilization: participants could match the basic Lean tools/methods to office work; Lean Staff or managers will see the approach for application


Training Outline:

- Introduction to lean in non-productive areas

In this part, you will learn an understanding of what lean is in the non-production area and how it differs from lean in the production area


- The difficulty of lean change, and the general path rooted in lean philosophy

In this section, you will learn what the difficulties of lean change are and what the general motivation is


- Lean principles and basic methods of lean in non-productive areas

Participants learned the basic lean principles and basic methods (8 wastes, 5S, value-added, swim-lane diagrams), the training guided the participants with coaching inspiration, coupled with multiple simulation exercises, it was easier for participants to quickly apply the lean knowledge learned to work, reduce waste and improve efficiency

    Graduated from Liverpool University with MBA focusing on Industrial 4.0 and Jiangsu University with Master's in Mechatronics, Blue has been deeply engaged in the field of Operations Excellence. He is proficient in Lean & related Methodology and experienced across different areas such as Production, SCM, Business Area (Indirect).

    Blue was SCM senior manager with the task to build up the SCM network and set up the SCM organization in a multinational group. Then Blue sticks into the Lean Area for more than 10 years with knowledge and practice in different areas such as Human Resource, Finance, Business Unit etc. And now has worked with responsibility for promoting Lean in Region China. Her main tasks include Lean organization setup, continuous improvement project delivery, training development and delivery, project coaching, etc.

    So far, Blue has delivered 250+ training sessions on Operations Excellence related, trained 2800+ students from different countries, including entry level staff and mid to top management, and coached 300+ continuous improvement projects.
