Dr. Hsiao-Wuen Hon is corporate vice president of Microsoft, and chairman of Microsoft Asia-Pacific R&D Group. He drives Microsoft’s strategy for research and development activities in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as collaborations with academia.

Dr. Hon has been with Microsoft since 1995. He joined Microsoft Research Asia in 2004 as deputy managing director, stepping into the role of managing director in 2007. He founded and managed Microsoft Search Technology Center from 2005 to 2007 and led development of Microsoft’s search products (Bing) in Asia-Pacific. In 2014, Dr. Hon was appointed as chairman of Microsoft Asia-Pacific R&D Group.

An IEEE Fellow and a distinguished scientist of Microsoft, Dr. Hon is an internationally recognized expert in speech technology. Dr. Hon has published more than 100 technical papers in international journals and at conferences. He co-authored a book, Spoken Language Processing, which is a graduate-level textbook and reference book in the area of speech technology used in universities around the world. Dr. Hon holds three dozen patents in several technical areas.

Jane Sun is the Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors of Trip.com
Group Limited, a leading global travel services company that operates the sub-brands Trip.com,
Ctrip, Skyscanner and Qunar. She first joined the company as Chief Financial Officer in 2005,
later serving as Chief Operating Officer and Co-President, before becoming CEO in 2016.
In the years since Ms. Sun joined, Trip.com Group has experienced a significant increase in its
market capitalization, growing from about $1 billion to $20 billion, and has continued to rapidly
expand its global footprint. Founded in 1999, with the mission to “pursue the perfect trip for a
better world”, the company effectively adapted to the rise of mobile Internet, growing from a
small tech company into a one-stop shop for travel services for 400 million users worldwide.
The company also has a firm belief in the ability for tourism to promote understanding and
exchange, and to advance peaceful development. Ms. Sun led Trip.com Group’s expansion of
its global presence by investing in the British travel search company, Skyscanner, and the launch
of its own international brand Trip.com to serve customers all around the world.
Ms. Sun is actively engaged in public welfare and social services. Under her leadership,
Trip.com Group cooperates with domestic and foreign organizations such as the World Wide
Fund for Nature and the United Nations Development Programme to carry out charitable
initiatives. Ms. Sun cares deeply for education, and its crucial function in providing greater
opportunities for all. Ms. Sun and her husband donated US$10 million to the University of
Michigan - Shanghai Jiaotong University Joint Institute in 2015 to build the Long Bin building.
She also set up a scholarship at the University of Florida for international students in 2017. In
2019, she founded the Women in Global Health LEAD Fellowship run by the Harvard Chan
School of Public Health. Ms. Sun has led company-wide humanitarian programs throughout
her career at Trip.com Group. In 2019, Trip.com Group supported the Hope Children’s Hospital
in the Middle East. Also in 2019, Trip.com Group donated artificial limbs to disabled children
in need in countries around the world, and made donations to support children suffering from
malnutrition in Sierra Leone. For environmental protection, since 2008 Trip.com Group has
supported a reforesting campaign planting trees in Inner Mongolia to bolster its carbon
offsetting efforts. For female empowerment, as the only female CEO in China’s high-tech
industry, Ms. Sun also proactively advocates gender equality, and has made it her mission to
empower women to achieve balance and success in both their career and family lives.

As President of Xian Janssen, Jenny Zheng oversees operations in the People’s Republic of China. She is also a member of the Asia Pacific Leadership Team.
Since joining Xian Janssen as a marketing manager in 2002, Jenny has served in numerous leadership roles at regional and country levels, including Managing Director of Janssen Taiwan and, most recently, Area Managing Director of Janssen Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Under her leadership, Janssen Korea was one of the fastest growing multinational companies in 2019 and 2020. In Taiwan, Janssen improved its market ranking by two positions to become the sixth largest pharmaceutical company, and in Hong Kong, Janssen ranked as the fastest growing among the top 10 companies.
During this time, Jenny also served as Co-chair of the Pharmaceutical Committee, AmCham (The American Chamber of Commerce) Taipei, and was Board Director for the International Research-based Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (IRPMA) Taiwan, and Korean Research-based Pharmaceutical Industry Association.
Jenny is also a passionate volunteer in the local community. She was awarded the Volunteer Star as Enterprise Senior Leaders by the Beijing Civil Volunteer Service Center in 2015.
Jenny holds an Engineering degree from Shanghai JiaoTong University, and an MBA with Honors from the Booth School of Business, University of Chicago.

Alain Bénichou was appointed as CEO, Greater China Group (GCG) in April 2019. The GCG region includes Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. Prior to this position, Alain was General Manager Global Enterprise & Commercial, responsible for total IBM revenue for Enterprise and Commercial accounts in the 175 countries where IBM operates.



In 2016 he was Global Vice President, Strategy & Solutions in charge of strategic transformation projects and led the global Industry Solutions Sales teams, Technical Sales and Industry Solution Centers. Between 2010 and 2015 Alain was President of IBM France, leading all IBM operations in France. Prior to that Alain held managerial positions with IBM business units based in New York USA, and Zurich Switzerland.



In 2015 Alain was elected President of the American Chamber of Commerce in France where in launched the “Next Gen” initiative aimed at reinforcing start-up companies in their quest for growth and transatlantic collaboration. Alain is also Chairman of the “Institut Henri Poincaré” – the French organization regrouping all Mathematics associations.

Alan Beebe is President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China based in Beijing. He has over twenty-five years of business experience in Asia, including seventeen years in mainland China.

As President, Alan oversees all advocacy, programs, partnerships and insights provided by the Chamber to support the business growth of nearly 900 foreign corporations operating in China, including most of the U.S. Fortune 500. He leads major advocacy initiatives related to trade tariffs, market access, cybersecurity, Made in China 2025, China’s NGO law and structural imbalances in U.S. – China trade and investment.

Prior to joining AmCham China, Alan held various senior executive positions in China with EY, IBM, and management consulting firms AT Kearney and PRTM. He also led a Beijing based start-up for five years, the China Greentech Initiative, which merged in 2014 with the Paulson Institute, founded by Hank Paulson.

Andrea holds a BSc and MSc in electronic engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin, Italy, and a PhD from Oxford Brookes University, UK.
