Chairman

Jim is a partner at Loeb & Loeb and an author, with three decades of experience advising multinational companies on corporate, regulatory, and compliance matters in China. He previously served four terms as Chairman of AmCham China.

With 2026 shaping up to be an event-heavy yearโ€”marked by major geopolitical and political milestones such as APEC in China, the U.S. midterm elections, the United States' 250th anniversary, and the potential for a Xiโ€“Trump meeting in Chinaโ€”Jim will share his perspectives on what to expect and what to watch going forward.

Vice Chair

As Executive Director for China at PhRMA, Travis represents leading biopharmaceutical research companies and leads the organization's government and policy engagement in China. A trusted advisor with over 25 years of experience building bridges between U.S. and Chinese institutions, he will offer his perspectives on the evolving U.S.โ€“China healthcare and policy landscape.


Poh-Yian Koh

Vice Chair

As President of China and Senior Vice President of FedEx, Poh-Yian Koh oversees the operations of FedEx in this vital market. She will share her perspectives on operating in China, including key challenges, opportunities, and what multinational companies should be watching ahead.

    Michael Hart

    President of AmCham China

    Michael Hart is President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China based in Beijing. He has over twenty-five years of business experience in Asia, including nineteen years in mainland China.

    As President, Michael oversees all advocacy, programs, partnerships, and insights provided by the Chamber to support the business growth of nearly 900 foreign corporations operating in China, including most of the U.S. Fortune 500. The chamber’s advocacy includes the impressive American Business in China White Paper and Business Climate Survey each published annually as well as numerous interactions with both the US and Chinese governments on behalf of our members.

    Prior to joining AmCham China, Michael spent most of his career in commercial real estate in Taipei, Shanghai and Tianjin including almost 20 years for a NYSE listed property services firm. He started in the research division briefing real estate owners, occupiers and investors on transactions and macro trends, he then opened, built, and led a branch office for the company in one of China’s largest Tier 1.5 cities for over a decade. Following this, Michael opened a private consulting and investment firm that among other projects invested in quick service restaurants.

    In addition to this work, Michael was a long-term AmCham member and served on the Tianjin chapter’s Executive Committee for nearly 15 years including several terms as the local Chairman.

    Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on finance and banking from the University of Missouri-Columbia in the U.S. He is a fluent speaker of mandarin Chinese. Michael was born and raised near Kansas City, Missouri.

    James Zimmerman is the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China).

    Based in Beijing, James is a author and lawyer who has lived and worked in China for three decades. He is a partner with the law firm of Loeb & Loeb LLP and advises foreign companies on corporate, transactional, regulatory, litigation and white-collar criminal defense matters. James previously served as Chairman of AmCham China for four prior terms in 2007-08 and 2015-16. He is the author of the acclaimed non-fiction book, The Peking Express: The Bandits Who Stole a Train, Stunned the West, and Broke the Republic of China.

    As a key strategic decision-maker for the company, Poh-Yian Koh is dedicated not only to driving the company’s business growth and market expansion in China but also to maintaining close collaborations with government entities, clients, and partners. Her leadership is pivotal in advancing FedEx’s strategic goals in China, ensuring sustained success and fostering long-term development and a positive corporate image in this crucial market.

    Ms. Koh started her career at FedEx in Singapore. In 1994, she moved to China and led the company’s efforts to explore the market, shape customs procedures, and support many of the FedEx strategic projects (i.e., Pudong and Guangzhou Hub), network, and service expansion in the country. During her 34 years with FedEx, she has developed an impressive breadth of experience from her directorship roles in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing. Her contributions to laying the foundation for FedEx's continued growth in China and Asia Pacific have been recognized with several awards, including two-time IT Hall of Fame Awards and the most prestigious 5-star Award at FedEx, of which she has been awarded nine times.

    Ms. Koh is passionate about advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and empowering women not only at FedEx, but also in the Chinese business community. She headed the disability pillar, called the Sunflower Project, which aims to create an inclusive and positive environment to enable individuals with disabilities to thrive for excellence with their skills and abilities.

    She also led the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa regions in advancing sustainability to achieve FedEx's carbon neutral goal by 2040.

    She also holds an Industrial Engineering Bachelor's Degree from Ohio State University and an Executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northern University, in conjunction with Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
