This event is the Financial Committee's 2026 annual meeting. Following President Trump's visit to China, we are honored to have Mr. Tyler Makepeace from the U.S. Department of the Treasury join us for an exclusive dialogue and exchange with members of the Financial Committee.


We encourage Financial Committee members to join and any AmCham member who has interests in Financial Committee to have further discussion.

    Tyler Makepeace

    U.S. Treasury Financial Attachรฉ at U.S. Embassy Beijing

    Tyler Makepeace is the U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial Attaché in China, where he coordinates Treasury’s engagement with China on fiscal, financial, and macroeconomic policy issues. Previously, he served as a Deputy Director in the U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of East Asia and the Pacific, where was responsible for managing a team of economists and policy analysts covering mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Mongolia.

    Prior to joining the Treasury Department, Tyler worked for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C., first as a supervisor for systemically important payment systems, and then as a financial analyst monitoring China’s banking system. Tyler completed his graduate studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, with his first year of courses completed at the Hopkins-Nanjing Center in Nanjing, China.

    Erin Zhang joined Goldman Sachs since 2017 March as an Executive Director in Beijing. Erin is responsible for governmental affairs of Mainland China, helping advance OGA’s China strategy, building government relations to strengthen the development to four business franchise, and advocacy on market reform. Since March 2020, Erin serves as member of Board of Directors and chair of the Financial Work Group at the American Chamber of Commerce in the People’s Republic of China.

    Viki Huang is the Head of Regulatory, Industry and Government Affairs covering China and South Korea, for State Street Corporation, based in Beijing. In this role, she is responsible for regulatory policies, government affairs; coordinates and manages relations with regulators, government agencies, quasi-government organizations and trade associations. She previously worked at J.P. Morgan in the International Government Relations team for 7 years. She holds master degree from University of Illinois.

Justin has 25 years' experiences across Asia, North American, Europe and Africa, in economic and financial policy research & analysis, strategic cooperation, and business development. Prior to PayPal, Justin used to work with China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Beijing municipal government, and a number of leading enterprises. He is very familiar with China’s government system, policy formulation as well as economic and financial industry development, and has gathered rich experiences and profound insights in asset management and Fin-Tech industries at home and abroad. He used to join state leaders’ official visits, represent China and speak in multilateral forums including UN summit. He actively participates in the development of China’s asset management and fintech industry, supports Chinese companies to go global. He used to be awarded “Elite Youth” by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and awarded “International Business Talent” by Beijing Chaoyang district government. He now also serves as Vice Chairman of China's cross border e-commerce 50 member forum, vice chair of Shanghai cross border e-commerce financial committee and coach of China RenMin University MBA school.
