AmCham China cordially invite you to join the lunchtime talk session on China Economy and US China relations on June 1, with David Dollar, Senior Fellow at John L. Thornton China Center, Brookings Institution.

David Dollar is a leading expert on China Economy and US China Relations. He was the U.S. Treasury’s economic and financial emissary to China for 4 years, facilitating the macroeconomic and financial policy dialogue between the United States and China. Prior to joining Treasury, Dollar worked 20 years for the World Bank, serving as country director for China and Mongolia.

During the talk, Mr. Dollar will discuss and share his insights on several heating issues on US China economic relations, including:
  • China’s GDP growth prospective in 2017 and its potential economic and political risks;
  • A deep analysis on US-China 100-day trade plan and newly announced initial harvest measures.

    David Dollar is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution’s John L. Thornton China Center. He is a leading expert on China's economy and U.S.-China economic relations. From 2009 to 2013 he was the U.S. Treasury's economic and financial emissary to China. Before his time at Treasury, Dollar worked at the World Bank for 20 years, and from 2004 to 2009 was country director for China and Mongolia. His other World Bank assignments primarily focused on Asian economies, including South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Bangladesh and India. From 1995 to 2004, Dollar worked in the World Bank’s research department. Prior to his World Bank career, Dollar was an assistant professor of economics at UCLA, spending a semester in Beijing teaching at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

    杜大伟是布鲁金斯学会外交政策项目约翰•桑顿中国中心和全球经济发展项目的资深研究员。他是中国经济以及中美经济关系研究领域的领军人物。2009年至2013年间,杜大伟曾任职美国财政部驻华经济与金融特使。在此之前,他在世界银行工作了二十年。2004年至2009年间,他曾任世界银行中国和蒙古局局长。他在世界银行的其它任职主要聚焦在亚洲经济体,包括韩国,越南,柬埔寨,泰国,孟加拉国以及印度。1995年至2004年,杜大伟在世界银行的研究部门工作。
    在就职于世界银行之前,杜大伟是加州大学洛杉矶分校的经济学助理教授,并曾在北京的中国社会科学院研究生院任教一学期。他于纽约大学取得经济学博士学位,在达特茅斯学院取得中国历史与语言学士学位。杜大伟在中国的经济改革、全球化以及经济增长领域均有广泛的著作。

Terms and Conditions

Attending an Event
Events have limited seating, so to ensure your attendance we encourage advance online registration and payment for ALL events. We cannot guarantee entry to anyone not registered in advance. Most of our events are in English and off the record, but please check the webpage for each event to avoid disappointment.

Advance Tickets and Discounts 
Members can receive a discount by purchasing an advance ticket at least 24 hours before the day of the event. You must pay online at the time of registering for the event to be eligible for a discount. Discounts will not be available to members at the door.

Receipts (fapiao) 
You can receive your fapiao when you arrive for an event provided that you buy an advance ticket and pay online at least 1 working day before the event and you provide the correct information for your fapiao at that time. You can leave details of the type of fapiao you need on the registration and payment page.

Event attendees can request a fapiao at the door or up to two months after the event. Requests made after that time will not be accommodated. Please contact the AmCham China staff member responsible for organizing your event.

Cancellation Policy
If you cannot attend an event for which you have registered, please cancel your registration no later than one business day prior to the event. If you fail to notify AmCham China of your cancellation in a timely fashion, you will forfeit the fee you have already paid.

To cancel you can: 1) cancel directly online through the EventBank platform on which you registered or 2) contact the AmCham China staff member responsible for organizing your event.
