Johnny Choi is an Of Counsel in the Employment team, based in DLA Piper's Beijing office. He advises Chinese and foreign multinational clients on employment, remuneration, talent retention/competition and anti-corruption matters in China, and has been based in China for almost 10 years.
Choi has extensive experience in all areas of employment law, including: redundancies, dismissals, HR reorganizations and transfers, employee IP infringements, post-termination restrictive covenants, expatriate secondments, privacy, workplace rules, labor unions and social security.
He has expertise advising technology companies on defending loss of talents and know-how to local competitors. He advises financial institutions and retail companies on the design and implementation of employee compensation and incentive schemes. Choi also recently led a number of investigations into alleged corruption within multinational life science companies and airlines in China and advised on related compliance and employment issues.
Choi has been recognized by Chambers Asia Pacific for his PRC employment expertise consistently since 2013.
