Cybersecurity has become a top-of-mind issue for executives in China - It is no longer an IT issue considered only by technical staff. The key findings in Symantec’s annual Internet Security Threat Report revealed that 1 in every 4 banks, 3 manufacturers, and 2 energy companies were victims of cyber-attacks. Customer identity loss is the largest data risk in the cyber-attacks. Symantec's research also found data breaches increased by 23 percent, with retail and finance sectors experiencing the most severe customer identity theft.

To address this fast-changing issue, Mr. Victor Law, Regional Director, Enterprise Security, Symantec, Greater China Region, who will share information on:

(1) cybersecurity trends in 2015 and 2016 outlook
(2) what they mean to member companies and how to improve cybersecurity

    With close to 20 years of experience, Victor Law has served in various capacities in the IT and Financial Services Industry. He has extensive hands-on experience in defining, building, operating and supporting IT projects of different sizes. Victor specializes in IT solutions in the areas of Messaging and Collaboration, Enterprise Systems Management, Information Security, Data Loss Prevention and Identity Protection and has in-depth knowledge of Windows platform.

    As Regional Director, Systems Engineering, Product and Consulting Services, Victor is responsible for defining overall strategy for Symantec’s Enterprise Security product & services portfolio across Greater China Region and leads the systems engineering, product and consulting services teams to work with customers in meeting their needs in the areas of Threat Protection, Information Protection, Cyber Security Services and Unified Security Analytics Platform.

    Prior to joining Symantec, Victor held a number of positions with Microsoft, Dow Jones Telerate and Hypercom.

    Victor holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering with honors from University of Waterloo, Canada and a dual Master’s degree in Business Administration & Information Systems from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong.
