Event Details

In China, breast cancer is the second most common cancer and often occurs in women as young as 30 or 40; substantially younger than the median age in the U.S. which is 61. With expanding urbanization and the adoption of western lifestyles it is likely that incidences of breast cancer will continue to increase and affect younger and younger women across China and the developing world.

However, over the last 25 years breast cancer mortality in the U.S. has declined by 34 percent due to a combination of early detection and effective treatment attributable to improved awareness and education about breast health and breast cancer. This special event will focus on breast cancer education and the resources and materials available in China.

Experts from United Family Healthcare and the United Family Charitable Fund, GE Healthcare, Goldman Sachs, and U.S.-based breast cancer foundation, Susan G. Komen, will describe efforts to improve early detection of breast cancer in China. This will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session with the speakers. All attendees will receive a variety of educational resources along with a guide for easy implementation in your corporations so that your staff can be informed about this important issue.

We will also launch the United Family Charitable Fund's Wheels for Life Mobile Medical Bus and five women will have a chance to win a free mammogram at United Family Healthcare! This event is free of charge and we encourage you and your friends to come. If you are satisfied with the session, let us know if you might like a similar presentation done at your company.

Tickets are limited and will be allocated to AmCham members who apply first.
