Event Details

Services have become a major driver of China's economic growth. With almost 50 percent of the Chinese economy derived from the service sector, it remains as a source of optimism for the Chinese government and domestic and foreign companies investing in China. Despite this enthusiasm, the service sector in China still remains underdeveloped, and there exists substantial opportunities for further economic growth and employment.

This year's Policy Spotlight on the service sector combines recommendations and updated input from nine specific sectors included in our 2015 American Business in China White Paper and industry-specific data collected from our 2015 Business Climate Survey to offer a comprehensive picture of the current environment faced by foreign-invested service providers operating in China, with recommendations to both the Chinese and US governments to ensure success for the development of the service sector in China.

This year's Services Spotlight includes the following sectors:
  • Financial Services
  • Construction
  • Healthcare
  • ICT
  • Isurance
  • Legal Services
  • Media & Entertainment
  • Real Estate
  • Retail, E-Commerce, and Express Delivery Services

Please join us for a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing the service sector, along with the official release of the 2015 Spotlight on Services.

*All attendees will receive a copy of the report. Further panelists to be confirmed.
