An Update on the Chinese Economy with the UK Embassy's Chief Economist
To keep the Tianjin business community up-to-date, two prominent speakers will provide their thoughts on the current state of the Chinese economy.
Henry Bell, Chief Economist at the UK Embassy in Beijing, will speak about recent trends in China's economy and likely future prospects, covering the macro-economy, the reform process and China's economic role in the region. Following his lecture, Madeleine Sturrock of Pan Cathay Consulting will share her experiences in Tianjin over the last 30 years. Next there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.

Henry Bell Henry Bell has been covering the Chinese macroeconomy for the British Embassy since 2012, prior to which he completed an MBA at Beijing's Tsinghua University. He previously worked at HM Treasury.
Madeleine Sturrock, Pan Cathay Consulting Madeleine Sturrock is the founder of Pan Cathay Consulting Ltd. and has been active in Chinese business for more than 30 years. She was formerly Deputy CEO of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), and currently serves as Treasurer for the Universities China Committee in London (UCCL).
