The guest speaker for this month will be Dr. Herman Tan, Senior Vice President of the Humanpool Group. Fifteen of Tan's 30 years of experience in human resource management have been in Asia-Pacific, where he's been involved in conducting feasibility studies and starting up new sales/marketing offices and manufacturing plants in China, Japan, India and other markets in Asia. He was responsible for all the Compensation Plans and Benefit Programs in Asia-Pacific while he was at Motorola, serving as Regional Director of Compensation and Benefits. Prior to founding the Singapore HMR Group of companies in 1997, Tan worked for several multinational corporations including Ford Motor Company, Smith-Corona, Glaxo Wellcome, Motorola and Seagate Technology where he was appointed Vice President-Regional HR/Admin, Seagate Technology International, Asia Pacific.

He will talk about the reservoir of human resources for business sustainability, such as what you need to contribute to business sustainability; use of flexible workforce for cost effectiveness; increased demand for virtual work arrangement; greater emphasis on partnerships and outsourcing and increased use of new technologies and learning for business enhancement.
