In 2014, the Beijing Municipal Local Tax Bureau (BMLTB) set up a new International Taxation Division which focuses on strengthening non-resident tax management. Moreover, starting in July, BMLTB launched an Individual Income Tax (IIT) survey and self-examination at the city level on selected multinational enterprises in order to understand current IIT compliance status of foreigners in Beijing and to tighten the IIT administration. After the self-examination, the tax authorities may select certain companies to conduct a formal tax audit. Therefore, the tax authorities in Beijing will now be paying more attention to IIT administration and collection on foreigners.
AmCham China Tax Forum leaders invite you to join a panel discussion to address:

1. Current local tax practice and development on IIT filing positions for foreigners in Beijing
2. How MNEs/foreign individuals can manage or mitigate the risks assumed and reduce the relevant tax cost.
