Join the Young Professionals Committee for an evening with Paul Haenle, who will speak to our YPs about his experiences working on US foreign policymaking and US-China relations. This evening provides an opportunity to hear from an expert with broad experience in the public and private sectors, including serving in the White House on the National Security Staffs of Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama.
Paul Haenle is the director of the Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy and an adjunct professor at Tsinghua University. Prior to joining Carnegie, he served from June 2007 to June 2009 as the director for China, Taiwan, and Mongolian Affairs on the National Security Council staffs of presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. From 2007 to 2009, Haenle also played a key role as the White House representative to the US negotiating team at the six-party-talks nuclear negotiations. Prior to that, he served as the executive assistant to the US national security adviser. Paul also serves as a senior advisor at Teneo Strategy, a global business-consulting firm that provides strategy and counsel to CEOs of Fortune 500 companies as well as Chinese firms involved in international investment.
This event was rescheduled from Sept. 25.
