The latest stop in the AmCham China, Tianjin series of company tours will be Boeing Tianjin Composites, which for the past 15 years has been applying its experience in advanced materials to supply airplane structures.
Boeing Tianjin Composites is a joint venture between Boeing and Aviation Industries Corporation of China and is the largest aerospace employer in Tianjin. It manufactures interior parts and composite structures for all Boeing's in-production programs including the 737, 747-8, 767, 777 and 787. Boeing Tianjin's other customers include Hexcel, Goodrich, Shanghai Aviation Industry Corporation and Xi'an Aviation Industry Corporation. In 2011, it doubled its capacity with the opening of a new $21 million facility in Tianjin that is certified by the U.S. Green Building Council and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.
