NEW DATE: Call for Companies: Forming the AmCham China Antitrust/Competition Law Subcommittee
***Due to an abundance of interest from members, we are postponing to Wednesday, June 4 from 12:00-2:00 PM, so that we may accommodate a larger number of participants in the AmCham Chain Conference Center. If you have previously registered for this event, an AmCham China staff member will contact you with further details.***
AmCham China is forming a subcommittee within the legal committee to advance our advocacy efforts on Antitrust and Competition Law issues in China. We invite member companies to attend a brown-bag brainstorming discussion to develop ways member companies can use the Antitrust/Competition Law Task Force to benefit members of AmCham. Potential discussion points include:
1. A forum where companies can anonymously raise concerns they have about how the antitrust laws are affecting their businesses. Antitrust issues can also arise in business operations, and companies may need a forum to share information and issues with the government, though they are not currently involved in litigation or under investigation.
AmCham China, with its cooperation and credibility with the Chinese government may be able to support reports and advocacy for the Chinese government. or at least pass this on to the US government (DOJ and FTC).
2. Comment on draft PRC regulations/guidelines and coordinate cooperation with the American Bar Association on future submissions.
In addition to the discussion about the purpose of this task force, Becky Koblitz will brief us about the highlights of the American Bar Association conference on antitrust in China (May 21-23).
