AmCham China's Agriculture Forum is pleased to present an informative seminar featuring a variety of speakers, including a policymaker (Fang Yan, deputy director general of the Rural Development Department of National Development & Reform Committee), industry experts and executives of foreign Agricultural companies. Each will discuss different aspects of the issue and their relevance to food security strategies. The presentation will be followed by an Agriculture Forum members' meeting and mixer.

While food production in China has increased over the past 10 years, imports have been on the rise as well. This has raised many questions surrounding food security. During the recent Central Economic Work Conference, Central Urbanization Work Conference and Central Conference on Rural Work, Chinese officials emphasized the necessity of restructuring China's national food security strategy.
The half-day seminar will cover the following two questions:
- What new food security concepts or strategies were discussed at these recent conferences?
-What are the challenges and opportunities for the US Agriculture industry in relation to these developments?
