Juli S. Kim and Antone Greubel, officers, American Citizen Services, US Embassy Beijing, will be detailing the many services offered to US citizens. These include both non-emergency services (notaries, passport issuance and renewals, registration of birth abroad, etc.) and emergency services (emergency passports, prison visits to detained American citizens, welfare and whereabouts searches for American citizens who have gone missing, etc.)
Juli S. Kim grew up in Corpus Christi, TX and obtained her B.A. in International Relations from Mount Holyoke College and M.A. in Environment and Sustainable Development from King's College - University of London. During her first posting with the State Department, she served as the political/human rights officer in Rabat, Morocco. She is currently a consular officer at the US Embassy in Beijing and will begin serving at Embassy Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2014. Before joining the State Department, Kim was a program specialist with the US Forest Service's Cooperative Forestry Division in Washington, DC. Prior to that, she worked at both Conservation International and the Woodrow Wilson Center's China Environment Forum.
Antone Greubel is originally from Evansville, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana State University with a M.A. in Political Science and from the University of Southern Indiana with a B.A. degree in Political Science. He joined the Foreign Service in 2002 and has previously served in Indonesia, Canada, Pakistan, and Washington, D.C. He has been in Beijing for two years and is the chief of the American Citizens Unit. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, he worked in local government in Indiana.
