Over the past few months, AmCham China has been receiving increasing inquiries from members on vaccines. To help keep the AmCham China members up to date and informed, we've been closely monitoring the vaccine roll-out progress in China and stayed in frequent contact with both central and local government agencies. As of August 4th, 2021, over 1.7 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been inoculated in China, according to the data released by the National Health Commission (NHC). Although there are sporadic regional cases in Nanjing and a few other provinces now, timely measures have been taken to control the spread of the outbreaks. We are determined to support AmCham China members and their families to navigate through the latest developments and regulations regarding vaccine/vaccination and inbound travel of mainland China.
Following our first three All Member Standing Call on Vaccine And travel Status in China that took place on February 9, March 29 and June 23 respectively, we are going to host our 4th All Member Standing Call on vaccine and travel status on Tuesday, August 17 to provide our members up-to-date information and insights on vaccine/vaccination and China inbound travel policies, also for us to better understand member companies' needs when it comes to various aspects of current vaccine access for the general public in China.
This standing call series will not be a formal event but rather an important converge among the entire AmCham China community, including all the Chapters in Tianjin, Wuhan, Dalian and Shenyang, to unite strengths on a key vaccine initiative we are trying to pursue for everyone. Joined by wise leaders from different sectors of our community, AmCham China President Alan Beebe will be leading the discussion.
