Event Introduction

The Value-Added Tax Law of the People's Republic of China took effect on January 1, 2026, together with its Implementing Regulations. These updates clarify key aspects of VAT administration, including tax rates, calculation methods, preferential policies, and compliance requirements. This event will provide an overview of the new framework and its practical implications for businesses operating in China.


To support the stable development of foreign-invested enterprises, in this event, we will also review and discuss daily compliance requirements and countermeasures. To discuss the key changes which impacts on enterprises' daily operation. We will also share some experience on non- trade foreign exchange business that enterprises need to focus on when conducting.

    Jessia is a China tax partner of Ernst & Young Beijing office. Jessia joined Ernst & Young tax practice in May 2005. Jessia’s tax experience includes PRC tax compliance, tax planning, corporate restructuring, foreign exchange consultation, and in-depth review of business distribution arrangement, feasibility studies, and profit repatriation. Jessia was seconded to the firm New York office for China tax desk during the period from January 2013 to July 2014. She has provided Chinese tax advice to numerous US and non-US clients seeking to invest into China or to re-structure their existing Chinese operations. Jessia’s clients are from industries of TMT, education, private equity, real estimate, etc. In recent years, Jessia has also provided Chinese enterprises with tax strategies and outbound planning associated with their outbound investments. Prior to joining Ernst & Young (China), Jessia had worked for a CPA firm for over 7 years providing audit services. She also had 3 years working experience in industry taking a finance and tax management role. Her experience in both commercial and professional environments has greatly helped her to take both the technical and practical aspects into consideration when rendering solutions to clients.
